Evacuation Drills

It is a requirement under AS3745-2010 to run at least 1 full evacuation exercise for your building/workplace each year. Firetech consultants regularly visit workplaces to run full evacuation exercises, we provide realistic exercises to test your buildings emergency management plan and ensure all building occupants are familiar with their emergency exits and escape paths.


Our trainer qualified in training and assessment will complete a de-brief for all personnel involved in the exercise and sit down with the wardens to determine potential improvements.

Workplace Emergency Procedures Manual

Is your Emergency Control Organisation (ECO) prepared to act?


Regulation 43 of the Work Health and Safety Regulations 2012  requires workplaces to prepare an emergency plan testing of the emergency procedures, including the frequency of testing information, training and instruction to relevant workers in relation to implementing the emergency procedures.


The Australian Standard AS 3745 – 2010 Planning for emergencies in facilities is produced by Standards Australia and is widely accepted throughout the industry as the benchmark when it comes to implementing emergency procedures and training within an organisation General Evacuation. Training provides an understanding of what must be included in an emergency plan, why emergency evacuations occur, what occurs in an emergency, and what the evacuation procedures are in an emergency evacuation designed in line with the Australian Standards.

 

Firetech Services training package required to the Australian Standard AS 3745 – 2010 Planning for emergencies in facilities and designed to assist with the application and development of evacuation procedures providing a framework for emergency planning, utilizing the built facilities as appropriate and implementing emergency procedures and training within an organisation. This training manual can also be used to familiarise all occupiers, building owners and personnel with the necessary knowledge and skills to facilitate a safe and orderly evacuation of the premises in an emergency situation This Course is a general Knowledge course and does not require to be nationally accredited Our training manual covers the required competency of each ECO member. This course covers role-specific emergency responsibilities, such as those of a WARDEN or other members of an emergency control organisation (ECO) Our support doesn't stop at training – we can also advise on Emergency Control Planning and an annual Evacuation exercise The training manual will provide Legislative requirements for a person conducting a business or undertaking and  the test and inspect requirements to Australian Standard 1851 (AS-1851) Emergency Planning in Facilities

  • Emergency Planning Committee roles and responsibilities.

  • What an emergency is and the need for emergency training.

  • Roles and Responsibilities of Fire Wardens.

  • Emergency planning is used for prevention and preparation.

  • Roles in an emergency.

  • How to respond to an emergency.

  • Developing an emergency evacuation plan with AS 3745 Clauses 3.5.2, 3.5.3, 3.5.4 and 3.5.5.

  • Ensuring that resources are provided to enable the development and implementation of the emergency plan.

  • Establishing an emergency control organization (ECO) to operate in accordance with the emergency plan.

  • Implementing facility emergency response procedures.

  • Identify, monitor and report situations that could lead to workplace emergencies.

  • Prepare for emergency situations.

  • Report emergencies and potential emergencies.

  • Respond to emergency warnings and advice.

  • Identifying events that could reasonably produce emergency situations.

  • How to use a portable Fire Extinguisher.
