Your lighting system should receive another test every 12 months with all the same procedures as the 6-monthly test, plus the inspection and cleaning of fittings and reflective surfaces. Without a formal discharge test, you could be unaware of potential power failures in your system. Your emergency exit signs need to be submitted for a series of tests to ensure accordance with AS/NZS2293. To complete this test Firetech will need to conduct:

A photometric test to ensure the light output is sufficient for a particular space.
A format, luminance and colour test
Other tests that will be performed include:
Inspecting all bulbs and lights and replacing as required
Inspecting all diffusers and batteries and making sure that any defective diffusers or batteries have been replaced
Cleaning lights to ensure light output isn’t dimmed by dirt and dust
Ensuring that signs and the distance between emergency lighting is in compliance with current safety standards
Providing documentation of all tests to ensure the business owner is aware of when testing needs to be arranged. This documentation can also be used to prove compliance to authorities.
