Evacuation Diagrams
An Emergency Plan is the documented scheme of assigned responsibilities, actions and procedures within a designated section of the emergency plan, to respond to and manage emergencies as laid out in AS3745-2010.
Evacuation Diagrams
It is a requirement that buildings install Evacuation Signs and Diagrams to assist people trying to exit the building in an emergency.
Buildings are required to display evacuation signs that show the procedures for evacuation from that part of the building represented in the diagram.
Firetech evacuation diagrams meet the requirements of all the Australian Work Health and Safety Legislations, Regulations, relevant Codes of Practice and Standards.
Site Profiling
The physical features, systems and organisational management structures are reviewed to establish site-specific emergency management requirements. Responsibilities and procedures are developed in response to the site profile and range of potential emergency situations.
Examples of inclusions in an emergency plan
An emergency plan may include practical information for workers such as:
-
Emergency contact details for key personnel who have specific roles or responsibilities under the emergency plan, for example fire wardens, floor wardens and first aid officers
-
Contact details for local emergency services, for example police, fire brigade and poison information Centre
-
A description of the mechanisms for alerting people at the workplace to an emergency or possible emergency, for example siren or bell alarm
-
Evacuation procedures including arrangements for assisting any hearing, vision or mobility-impaired people
-
A map of the workplace illustrating the location of fire protection equipment, emergency exits, assembly points
-
Triggers and processes for advising neighbouring businesses about emergencies, and

Procedures for testing the emergency plan including the frequency of testing must be included
We can arrange a site visit by a qualified consultant to carry out a full site survey and mark up the the base floor plans for creation and supply of the final approved diagrams.
